Final Four Betting for the Texas Tech Red Raiders vs Michigan State Spartans this Saturday.
Bettors love the College Basketball National Tournament and the Texas Tech vs Michigan State and Auburn vs Virginia games this week are a great reason why. The best in college basketball are on show and after months of preparation, the last four teams do battle this weekend.
Texas Tech won the West Region and they are making their first ever appearance in the Final Four. They have one of the best defenses in the country and in winning their region they beat 2nd seed Michigan and top-seed Gonzaga, which was their last game.
The Red Raiders are the betting underdog, but they have covered the spread in all four of their NCAA Tournament games.
Michigan State is back in the Final Four after a three-year absence and in their last game beat the tournament favorite in Duke. The Spartans are solid on both ends of the floor and they have not allowed more than 67 points in their tourney games.
Not only is this Tech’s first Final Four, but also their first game ever facing Michigan State.

Texas Tech Red Raiders Form
[table id=37 /]
Texas Tech flexed their strong defense in their last game in a 75-69 win over Gonzaga, who are the highest scoring team in the nation averaging 87.6 ppg.
Both teams shot in the low 40’s in terms of field goal percentages in a pretty sloppy game where Tech had 13 turnovers and forced 16 of them. Jarrett Culver was the high scorer for the Red Raiders with 19 points, but he missed 14 of his 19 field goals. Matt Mooney and Davide Moretti combined for 29 points.
Culver is averaging 18.9 ppg on the season to lead Texas Tech and in the four games in the tournament has averaged 22.4 ppg. Culver also leads the team in rebounding (6.4 rpg) and he and 6’10” Tariq Owens (8.9 5.8 rpg), who has averaged 8 rpg in his last three games, have to hit the glass facing a MSU team that ranks 5th in the nation in rebound margin.
On top of that the Raiders have to have movement all the time, as the Spartans rank 3rd in the nation in assists per game.
Michigan State Spartans Form
[table id=38 /]
In Michigan State’s 68-67 win over Duke in the Elite 8, they played great pressure defense and forced Duke into 17 turnovers and they only had seven of them.
They needed the turnovers since they did not have the best shooting game with a FG% of 42.9% allowing Duke to shoot 45.6%.
Cassius Winston led the Spartans with 20 points and leads them on the season averaging 18.9 ppg. He has not shot the rock well in the tourney and that is why the MSU defense has to bring the pressure again.
Xavier Tillman had 19 points as well as 9 rebounds in the win over Duke and has upped his season averages in scoring and rebounding in the Big Dance putting up 15.3 ppg as well as 8.5 rpg.
