Louisville Cardinals Form

The Cardinals have won three of their last four games to improve to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the ACC Atlantic Division.

Louisville is hoping to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2017 and the 18th time in the last 22 seasons. The Cardinals missed a bowl last year for the first time since 2009.

The match-up against Miami pits one of the league’s top scoring offenses against one of the top scoring defenses. The Cardinals are third in the ACC at 32.8 points per game, while the Hurricanes are second in the conference allowing just 19.4 points per game.

The Cardinals have scored 24 or more points in six games this season.

In its last game two weeks ago, Louisville pulled out a 28-21 win over Virginia as a four-point home underdog.

The Cavs entered the game ranked eighth in the nation in defending the run, but the Cards rumbled for 227 yards in the win. That’s the most rushing yards Virginia has allowed all season.

Overall, the team has shown great balance on offense, passing for more than 200 yards and rushing for more than 200 yards in four games out of its eight games.

Defensively, Louisville ranks dead-last in the ACC in scoring defense (31.9 points per game) but has intercepted a pass in four straight games for the first time since 2016.

The Cards have six interceptions and have caused nine turnovers in the last four games.

Miami-Florida Hurricanes Form

The Hurricanes come in off a big win over rival Florida State that improved the team to 5-3 overall and 3-3 in the ACC Coastal Division.

The win was the second-straight for Miami and the third in its last four games.

QB Jarren Williams had a big game for the Miami offense in the win, completing 21-of-37 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns. The redshirt freshman quarterback has thrown for 1,449 yards and 10 TDs this season as the Canes rank fifth in the ACC in passing yards per game.

But the big story for this team in 2019 has been the aggressive defense that has limited four opponents to 12 points or less. That ranks second in the ACC, behind undefeated Clemson, allowing 288 yards per game.

Miami ranks second in the ACC against the rush, giving up just 97 yards on the ground per game.

Louisville vs Miami Picks Head-to-Head

Miami leads series the overall series 9-3-1, but the Cardinals have won the last three match-ups. The last meeting was back in 2014 when the Cardinals prevailed, 31-13.

Saturday will be Louisville’s first appearance in Miami since 2004. The Cards are 0-5-1 all-time against Miami on the road.

Louisville vs Miami Picks & College Football Predictions

Louisville is not only playing its best football of the season right now, but is also the benefactor of a huge scheduling advantage.

The ever-improving Cards come in off a bye week and catch the Canes playing for the sixth straight week and fresh off an emotional win over its bitter rival, Florida State.

We are big believers in Louisville head coach Scott Saterfield and aren’t surprised to see the team getting better with every week.

Miami has covered just six of its last 16 games as a home chalk, including 1-3 this season and those struggles continue today. Take the points.
