LSU Tigers Form

The Tigers enter with a perfect 8-0 straight up (4-0 in the SEC) and 5-2-1 against the spread.

They have one of the best offenses in school history, led by Heisman Trophy front runner Joe Burrow, who has thrown 30 TD passes and just four interceptions.

LSU is beating teams by an average score of 46.8-20 and the offense is rolling up an average of 535.9 yards per game. LSU has the No. 1 ranked passing game in the SEC and the No. 10 running game.

The defense has been very good as well, limiting opponents to 20 points per game and an average of 315 total yards per game. But injuries are a concern heading into Saturday’s showdown at Alabama.

The Tigers lost linebacker Michael Divinity Jr. earlier this week when the senior starter announced he was leaving the team for personal reasons.

Defensive secondary starters Grant Delpit and Derek Stingley Jr. both left the team’s last game against Auburn with injuries and their status is questionable for Saturday.

Alabama Crimson Tide Form

Despite losing starting QB Tua Tagovailoa for part of the season with an ankle injury, the Tide is 8-0 overall, 5-0 in the SEC and 4-4 against the spread.

Head coach Nick Saban said this week that Tagovailoa’s availability will be a game-time decision. Tagovailoa injured his ankle against Tennessee on Oct. 19 and did not play against Arkansas the following week.

Alabama was off last week, giving the star QB some much-needed time to rest.

Alabama has the No. 2 ranked offense in the SEC (506 yards per game), the No. 2 passing game (338.6 yards per game) and No. 8 rushing attack (168 yards per game).

On defense, Bama is holding opponents to 307.5 yards per game, and appears to be peaking at the right time.

Alabama gave up a total of 20 points in its last two games — wins over Arkansas and Tennessee — and leads the nation in turnover margin at plus 13, while ranking in the top 15 in scoring defense (15.3 points per game).

LSU vs Alabama Head-to-Head

Alabama leads the all-time series between these bitter SEC rivals by a count of 53-25-5 and has really dominated in recent years, winning seven in a row.

They’ve had an easy time of it, with five of the last six victories coming by double digits.

In the most recent meeting, the Tide rolled, 29-0, last season as a 13.5-point road favorite.

The last meeting in Alabama came in 2017 when LSU covered as a 21-point dog in a 24-10 defeat.

LSU vs Alabama Picks & College Football Predictions

Alabama has had its way with LSU the last seven years and we think it continues here. Especially since we can get the Tide laying less than a TD at home against an LSU team that is banged up and may not be used to the big spotlight.

While the media has been hyping this one as the “Game of the Century” this is nothing out of the ordinary for Saban and his team.

In fact, Saban is 18-8 against the spread in his career when Alabama is undefeated and facing another undefeated SEC opponent.

Same can’t be said for LSU and QB Burrow, who has had a fantastic season, but will be playing, by far, the best defense he has seen all year.

Toss in the mounting injuries for an LSU secondary that is going to have to deal with Alabama’s incredibly talented WR corps and we like the Tide to roll even more.
