2019 U.S. Open Golf Predictions – Brooks Koepka

Not since 1905 has a player won three consecutive U.S. Open Golf titles. That player was Scotland’s Willie Anderson and some legends have tried since.

John McDermott, Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Curtis Strange have all had chances since but failed. It’s the same challenge Brooks Koepka will face in June.

Koepka, the U.S. Open Golf champion in 2017 and 2018, returns having added another PGA Championship to his title list. The young American is playing the best golf we’ve seen since Tiger Woods’ reign in the mid-2000’s.

His power that would rival any starting NFL defensive lineman, Koepka has transformed the modern “body” for golf, but he also has the mental game.

He could have easily lost the 2019 PGA Championship at Beth Page Black after turning his 7-shot lead into 1 with a few holes left. However, Koepka rose to the challenge by holding off Dustin Johnson.

“Today was definitely the most satisfying out of all of them for how stressful that round was – how stressful D.J. made that,” Koepka said. “I know for a fact that was the most excited I’ve ever been in my life there on 18.”

BetOnline’s Golf Odds has Koepka as the +650 favorite. Having won four of the last eight majors, it would take a brave bettor to go against him.

Pebble Beach will suit his game nicely and he’s at the top of our 2019 U.S. Open Golf Predictions.

2019 U.S. Open Golf Predictions – Dustin Johnson

It was another major championship second placing for Dustin Johnson at the PGA Championship. He might have been disappointed, but he made a game out of it.

Many had predicted Brooks Koepka to win by a big margin, but Johnson was the only golfer to challenge him down the stretch. He now moves to his favorite course, Pebble Beach, where he seeks his second career major.

The 2017 U.S. Open winner won the 2009 and 2010 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at Pebble Beach and it’s a course he’s very fond of. Pebble Beach plays to his strengths; big hitting and terrific short game.

There aren’t many weaknesses to the game of Dustin Johnson, who recently lost his #1 ranking to Koepka. He was the form golfer before Koepka came along but bettors shouldn’t forget about him.

He’s certainly one of the top 2019 U.S. Open Golf Predictions this year and the +750 odds @ BetOnline are appealing.

Stick with Johnson, he’s a class golfer.

2019 U.S. Open Golf Predictions – Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth played himself into form at Beth Page Black. The 25-year-old finished in a tie of third and it was a massive improvement on his 2019 to date.

Spieth has been struggling with his game for a long time now. He could break the shackles in the 2019 U.S. Open and score his fourth major win.

Bettors will need to show some faith in Spieth. He hasn’t performed at his usual high level, mostly due to his putting statistics drastically falling.

If he’s going to contend at Pebble Beach, his putting woes will need to be put behind him.
