Cleveland Indians Form
The Indians projected starter is Shane Bieber. Bieber is having a breakout season in which he made the all-star game and won MVP of the game. Shane – not Justin – is 12-5 with a 3.27 ERA over 25 starts.
Bieber’s last two starts have been really good, however the only blemishes are the two HRs allowed in each. He has pitched 22 innings in August and surrendered 6 runs on 5 HRs.
He has racked up 26 strikeouts against 3 walks. Bieber has displayed excellent command of pitches and can get big outs. The Indians are 7-3 in Biebers last 10 starts.
Bieber has pitched very well on the road this year, he’s 8-2 and allowed a batting average of .181.
The Indians are 5-5 in their last 10. They are 34-25 in road games this year. They’ve been playing really well but slowed down a bit as of late. They will be playing in a NL park meaning they will not have a DH for these games which will minimize a bit of their power offensively.
Francisco Lindor headlines their offense. Lindor is hitting a shade under .300 and has 21 HRs and 18 SB on the season. He is a consistent offensive threat with power and speed at the top of their lineup.
Carlos Santana leads the team in HRs with 29, 78 RBIs, and 91 walks. He is known for good plate discipline and can provide solid power when needed.
Jose Ramirez has had a streaky season thus far. He is up to 20 HRs and is a big threat on the bases with 24 bags.
Rookie OF Oscar Mercado has been a big boost to the lineup as he can contribute as well as new additional OFs Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes who bring big power to the squad. One of these guys will have to come off the bench due to having no DH in these games.
New York Mets Form
The Mets are projected to start Steven Matz. Matz is a 7-7 with a 4.33 ERA over 22 starts this year. He had an incredibly strong month of July where he had 4 ER in 20 IP.
August has been a slight regression so far. His last two starts have been good he went 6 plus innings in each allowing 1 and 2 ER. Matz has done a great job of limiting HRs as of late and collecting a lot of outs via balls in play.
He has not struck out a lot of guys this year but has been above normal as of late. He is significantly increased his use of his slider as of late to much success and relies on his sinker.
Matz has been up and down all year however has been trending up as of late and will have a tough challenge in the Indians lineup.
The Mets have made a significant push as of late however come into the game 6-4 in their last 10, and 34-21 at home. Mets have a power and average threat throughout the lineup Pete Alonso is having one of the best rookie seasons by power numbers of all time.

He currently has 40 homers and 95 RBIs and is a threat in the middle of their lineup to leave the yard any at bat. Michael Conforto has 26 homers and brings power from the left side.
Ahmed Rosario has been really hot as of late he has taken the team lead in hits and has an average of .291 currently. JD Davis, and Wilson Ramos also are contributing offensively recently.
Mets are without Jeff Mcneil who has been great in the leadoff spot, Robinson Cano, and a key bullpen guy in Robbie Gsellman. For all the Mets offense this season they have blown the most saves in the MLB League this season despite acquiring Edwin Diaz who led the league in saves last year.
Indians vs. Mets MLB Tuesday Predictions
Bieber has been incredibly consistent and can dominate a game alone. Matz has been good as of late but up and down all year.
The Mets have some key guys on injury and been too inconsistent in the bullpen.
The Indians are playing well have a strong lineup and will have depth on the bench for clutch pinch hits if needed. For these reasons we like the Indians to win in this matchup.
