2019 MLB National League Futures Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
The Dodgers are the betting favorites to win the NL Pennant this season and they have done so for the last two seasons. However, they lost some key players in a trade and lost out on the Manny Machado signing.
Below are our best National League Futures betting tips.
MLB National League Futures tips
Here are some of the teams with the best betting odds to win the MLB National League Futures.
Los Angeles Dodgers +410
The Dodgers have lost the last two World Series and they are hoping 3rd time is the charm this season. They lost Manny Machado, Yasmani Grandal, Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig and while they only signed A.J. Pollack the offense should be fine.
They scored the most runs in the NL last season and with Cody Bellinger, Max Muncy, Justin Turner, and Joc Pederson they have an exciting lineup.
The health of Ace Clayton Kershaw is an issue heading into the season and the bullpen must pitch better than last season.
Philadelphia Phillies +460
The Phillies have had six straight losing seasons, but have high hopes after many big off-season moves.
Obviously, the Bryce Harper signing was the biggest move, but the team also brought in C J.T. Realmuto, SS Jean Segura, and Andrew McCutchen.
The staff led by Aaron Nola is solid and there are high hopes in the City of Brotherly Love for this upcoming season.
Chicago Cubs +635
The Cubs have made the playoffs in four straight seasons.
They were pretty quiet in the off-season and while they have a great infield led by Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo the outfield is a concern with Albert Almora Jr. and Jason Heyward, who have had issues at the plate.
Jon Lester leads a good pitching staff and they have Cole Hammels for a full season.
St. Louis Cardinals +675
The Cardinals look to end a three-year playoff drought and added Paul Goldschmidt the team’s talented infield with Matt Carpenter, Paul DeJong and Kolten Wong.
Andrew Miller was added to the staff, which had bullpen issues last season. It would help the Redbirds cause if the defense improves, as last season they had the most errors in the Majors.
Milwaukee Brewers +810
The Brewers return Reigning MVP Christian Yelich and all-star Lorenzo Cain and also signed Mike Moustakas. The offense and the bullpen are solid for the Brew Crew, but the starters have been the main issue for the club in the last couple of seasons.
Jimmy Nelson returns from injury, which helps their chances.
Washington Nationals +815
While the Nationals lost Bryce Harper they still have a solid lineup and their pitching staff is still the strength of the team.
The team was busy in the off-season and top starters Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg will be joined by new additions Patrick Corbin, Anibal Sanchez and Jeremy Hellickson as well as Joe Ross coming back from Tommy John surgery.
The loss of Harper is big, but the Nats still have the talent to compete for the NL East crown.
Atlanta Braves +1075
The Braves won the NL East last season and they ranked in the top 10 in the Majors in both runs scored and team ERA.
Freddie Freeman is a superstar in the making and reigning Rookie of the Year Ronald Acuna had a stellar first campaign in the bigs.
New York Mets +1125
The Mets have a great pitching staff led by Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Zack Wheeler, but that staff has been hampered by injuries.
The offense should get a boost from the additions of Robinson Cano and Jed Lowrie, but the team will rely on pitching and the big guns have to stay off the DL for New York to compete in the tough NL East.
Colorado Rockies +1200
The Rockies have made the playoffs in the last two seasons and even at Coors Field the pitching was legit last season.
Daniel Murphy joined the club to take over at first base and with Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story, and Charlie Blackmon the lineup should be solid yet again.
After the Rockies at +1200 all of the other teams in the NL have long shot odds to win the Pennant.
