Check out all our MLB Predictions.
Seattle Mariners Form & News
The Mariners are currently 19-18 on the season after dropping Game 1 of this series 7-3. Despite that loss, they still have a good record on the road.
Seattle is 12-7 when travelling this season and although it’s early days, that’s a much better record than they usually have. The Mariners, however, have lost five of their last six games.
Four of those came consecutively when losing two games to the Cubs and two games to the Indians, before beating the Indians 10-0. Scoring runs, apart from that outing, has been tough and injuries haven’t helped.
Kyle Seager is still on the disabled list and when he returns, we’re expecting to see the Mariners hitting improve.
Seattle sends Yusei Kikuchi to the mound. The Japanese pitcher is 1-1 on the season with 40.2 innings pitched for 38 hits and 35 strike outs. He’s not the most economical pitcher but he is an exciting prospect.
New York Yankees Form & News
Jonathan Loaisiga is the starting pitcher for the Yankees and he’s one of their brightest prospects. Loaisiga is 1-0 on the season with a 2.70 ERA.
He has gone 10 innings for seven hits, 10 strikeouts and six walks, but he has given up only one home run. We haven’t seen too much from him so far this season but he could mature into a Yankees ace.
The Yankees have rebounded after a rocky start to the season. They are 20-14 after winning two of their three games against Minnesota and they were quality wins.
Despite having an injured list which could rival many teams’ best players, including Greg Bird, Luis Severino, Did Gregorius and Dellin Betances, the Yankees are fighting.
Surprisingly, the “Bronx Bombers” have hit only 54 home runs this season and Seattle has 70. Not many would have predicted that statistic coming into this game.
The Yankees starting pitching is slightly better, however, and that’s where they have the edge. They also have the potential to score 10+ runs on any given night. Yankees have big hitters and it’s only a matter of time before they get hot.
