MLB Thursday Tips, Preview & Betting Tips – Red Sox vs White Sox
It’s the Boston Red Sox vs Chicago White Sox for our MLB Thursdays Tips special. Both teams are desperately seeking some early-season success and this could be an important series.
The season hasn’t gone to script, mostly for the Boston Red Sox, which are languishing in fourth position in the American League East standings.
They had strong MLB Playoffs’ hopes this season but more will be needed and a MLB Thursday win over Chicago could be just what they need.
Chicago White Sox are riding a three-game winning streak and they should give Boston a run for their money.
Check out all our expert MLB tips.
Boston Red Sox Form
The Red Sox have been disappointing this season with a 14-17 record, but they’re finding form against Oakland. They have won their last two games against the A’s and that could see a turnaround in form. They scored a combined total of 14 runs from two games, giving up just five in reply.
The starting pitching rotation has been the big talking point for the Red Sox but David Price goes to the mount here. Despite a 1-2 record to start the season, Price has a respectable ERA of 3.6 and that’s much better than his counterpart here, who owns a 2-1 record but a 5.3 ERA.
With 37 strikeouts and eight walks, Price has done enough to establish himself as the #2 pitcher on the Red Sox rotation. Chris Sale is #1, but his pitching this season has been awful. It’s up to the experience of Prince to settle down this ailing rotation.
Bettors should expect to see Boston calm down and make a run.
Chicago White Sox Form
The White Sox are in some form after three consecutive wins over the Tigers and Orioles. They survived a 12-11 win over Detroit three games back before scoring a 4-1 win and then a 5-3 win over Baltimore.
Chicago has a lineup that can threaten many teams in the American League Central, but they find themselves five games back of the surging Minnesota, who notched another win over Houston on
They do have some injury problems, however, as Nate Jones, Ryan Burr and Spencer Adams remain on the DL. Still, Chicago has Tim Anderson and Jose Abreu. Anderson, in particular, has been good this season. He’s batting at .360 and has knocked in 18 RBI’s and six home runs. Abreu trails Anderson in the home run department with five, but he has smashed in 26 RBI’s.
Both players will need to be at their best in order to beat a Red Sox team that is stacked top to bottom.
White Sox send Lucas Giolito to the mount. He’s 2-1 on the season but has given up 15 hits on 18.2 innings of work. He has also walked 10 and given up two home runs.

Boston Red Sox vs Chicago White Sox MLB Thursday Tips
We haven’t been overly impressed with either team this season but the Red Sox look the better bet here.
Having won a couple of games heading into this MLB Thursday clash, the Boston Red Sox send David Price to the mount and he could be the difference.
If Price can avoid giving up early home runs, he will settle into his groove and provide the White Sox with some challenges second-time through the lineup.
Bettors will have to lay the chalk with Boston but the odds are worth taking.
