Monday Night MLB Predictions: Rockies vs. Diamondbacks

We have Monday night MLB Predictions for the Rockies vs. Diamondbacks, which could see a offensive explosion from both teams.

The Colorado Rockies travel to finish the season series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. It has been a tight series between the teams this season as Colorado leads 9-7 thus far.

These teams played three times last week with the Diamondbacks taking 2 of 3. The Diamondbacks are 61-62 and currently 4 games back of a wildcard spot. The Rockies are 55-67 and 9.5 games back.

Each team will need to make significant runs to make a playoff push, but the Diamondbacks are in a much better position to do so.

Colorado Rockies Form

The Rockies are projected to send Kyle Freeland out to start this game. Freeland has struggled mightily this year after a breakout last season. He is 3-10 this year with an ERA above 7 on 19 starts.

Freeland’s last start was against the D-Backs where he went 6 innings, allowing 5 runs and 2 HRs. He had good control striking out 6 and walking 1. He is 1-4 on his last 5 decisions and the Rockies are 7-12 overall in Freelands outings.

It has been rough for Freeland but his last couple starts have been much better.

The Rockies come in 4-6 in their last 10. They’ve been struggling as of late but have won their last 3 games in a row. The Rockies are 24-38 on the road this season. Their offense is headlined by the likes of Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon.

All three guys have over 130 hits and 25 HRs this season. Story is an all-round hitter that leads the team in HRs with 28. He is also a threat on the base paths with 17 stolen bags this season. Story is also one of the fastest players in the league.

Arenado leads the team in RBIs with 91 Charlie Blackmon is amongst the league’s best in terms of hits at 145 and is steady at finding his way on base.

The Rockies’ offense has turned it up as of late scoring at least 7 runs in 9 of their last 10. This is a good sign for over bettors on the run line.

Arizona Diamondbacks Form

The Diamondbacks are scheduled to pitch Zac Gallen. Gallen is 2-3 over 9 starts this season and owns an impressive 2.58 ERA. He is having an impressive start to his career.

The Diamondbacks have won both of Gallen’s starts this year. Including one last week where Gallen only pitched 4 innings and allowed 2 runs. That was his first outing in five starts he did not go 5 IP. Gallen has been quite impressive overall but some regression is due in the future.

The Diamondbacks are 4-6 in their last 10 and on a current four game losing streak. The offense has been up and down every night, but they are capable of scoring in bunches.

Ketel Marte is having a breakout year, offensively he is the catalyst for the team. He leads the team in average and is a league leader in hits.

Eddie Escobar leads the team in Hrs at 28 and leads all of baseball in RBI’s with 98. Another pair of young offensive threats are Christian Walker and Carson Kelly. David Peralta is having a down year but can still put up numbers in a single game.

Monday Night MLB Predictions: Rockies vs. Diamondbacks

These teams are very familiar with each other and play quite a few high scoring affairs. The over on the run line is a good bet.

We like the Diamondbacks to win the game outright, due to a more consistent play overall and they must win to stay in the MLB Playoffs wild card race.

Gallen has pitched well as of late and will look to continue his line of decent starts.

Ketel Marte and Eddie Escobar will lead the offense against Kyle Freeland.

Look for a lot of runs in a Dbacks win.
