New York Yankees Form

The Yankees are slated to pitch Domingo German. German is 16-3 with a 4.15 ERA in 21 starts. German has a dazzling record he has pitched well but has won some games with great offensive support.

He lost his last outing for the first time in two months when surrendering 5 runs over 5 innings. Prior to that he had been pretty good allowing 3 or less in his last four starts.

Lately, German has been hurt by the long ball surrendering 8 HRs over his last 4 starts. The young righty has a 8-2record on the road with a ERA north of 5.80. Those numbers definitely don’t correlate and don’t set up well for a talented Dodger offense.

German is efficient with his command; he limits walks and can generate strikeouts. He relies heavily on his fastball and curveball. He will mix in a changeup and rarely a sinker.

The Yankees are coming off a rough patch of games in Oakland were they got swept. They are 5-5 in their last 10 and 34-26 on the road this season. They are missing some big offensive bats currently, however, have enough solid bats to compete and score runs as they have all season.

The Yankees have done well against lefties as they are slated to face Kershaw in this matchup. Their offensive power definitely will travel with them as they have nearly equal amount of HRs on the road as home.

Two of their hottest hitters right now are Gleyber Torres who leads the team with 31 HRs, and DJ LeMahieu who is an MVP candidate as he is amongst the leagues best in average and hits.

Aaron Judge has put together some much better at bats as of late and is poised for a big series and can win a game alone with his offensive power.

The Yankees bullpen is very good and is well rested after minimal use in the previous series. Chapman, Britton and Ottavino can lock down games with late leads.

LA Dodgers Form

The Dodgers projected starter is Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw has been very good for a long time. This year is no different as he is 13-2 with a 2.27 ERA over 22 starts.

Kershaw has been spectacular the last two months. He has allowed 10 runs over his last 50 innings and is racking up strikeouts. The Dodgers are 18-4 in Kershaws starts this year. Kershaw is 9-0 at home this year and has been solid against both right and left handed hitters.

Whoever the Yankees roll out will be in a for a tough at bat each time against Kershaw.

The Dodgers have the best home record in baseball at 51-16 and are 7-3 in their last 10. The Dodgers are capable of winning games in blowout fashion and winning tight games. They lead the league in walk off wins, they are comfortable playing ties are behind late in games as well.

This might prove useful against a strong Yankee bullpen. Cody Bellinger, a NL MVP favorite, leads the team in all offensive categories. Other hot hitters include Corey Seagar and Max Muncy.

Kenley Jansen has struggled closing out games as of late. But bridge guys in between starters and Jansen have been solid and limit scoring efficiently.

Yankees vs. Dodgers MLB Sunday Predictions

There’s a lot on the line in this game as it may decide home field advantage in the World Series. The Dodgers are playing much better than the Yankees as of late and will have the better starting pitcher on the mound.

The Dodgers offense is locked in right now and putting up roughly 6 runs a game in August. That will be enough for Kershaw against a good Yankee lineup.

Look for the Dodgers to win another home game with a big performance from the offense and solid pitching.
