Magic vs Raptors Game 2 – NBA Playoffs

Magic vs Raptors tips

Magic vs Raptors tips for Game 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference 1st Round, where the Magic took the opening game with a late dagger.

It was a shock upset for NBA tippers who selected Toronto to win Game 1 last week, but the Magic came to play and we’re expecting nothing less on Tuesday.

Toronto has a record of underachieving in the NBA Playoffs and if their wanting to silence their critics, a win in Game 2 will be needed.

Orlando Magic Form

The Magic, which has a 17-24 record on the road, did well just to make the playoffs this season and not many predicted the Game 1 upset.

A late dagger hit by D.J. Augustin was enough to see the Magic rally back after trailing in the fourth quarter. For most of the game, the Magic were in control and when Toronto made a comeback, most bettors thought they would kick on for the opening game win, but this Magic team stuck around.

They don’t have any superstars in their team and we’re not expecting them to exit the first round against a team like Toronto, but they have nothing to lose. They’re also playing a team with a long history of falling apart in the playoffs.

The Game 1 win continued the lengthy winning streak for the Magic and we wouldn’t be surprised to see them covering the double-digit line the bookmakers have set.

Toronto Raptors Form

No matter how good the Toronto Raptors look throughout the regular season, they’re not a playoff team. That has been the case for a number of years and many thought that would change with the addition of Kawhi Leonard.

Having Leonard in the team is certainly a positive but there’s one player that needs to step up. Kyle Lowry went missing in Game 1 and, as he often does, looked flat when his team really needed him.

Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry needs to step up for the Raptors.

Playing well throughout the season is one thing; but playing well in the playoffs is when the Raptors organization needs him most. He’s a key aspect for the Raptors as he provides an attacking threat and he needs 20+ points on Tuesday.

Raptors have all the makings to be a top Eastern Conference team, but they’re lacking a leader and with Leonard being a softly-spoken type, it’s time for Lowry to start taking over.

The only worry is his confidence and it took a big hit last week.

Magic vs Raptors Betting Tips

We are confident the Raptors will get back to their winning ways against the Magic here, but we’re also confident Orlando will make it a close contest.

Magic haven’t shown any signs that they’re going to let this game become one-way traffic at Scotiabank Arena and they should be able to keep it close.

If all Toronto’s star players play well at once, the Magic will be up against it but that’s unlikely to happen during the playoffs.

Tip: Magic +10
