Betting on the NBA Playoffs

NBA Playoffs Spread Betting

Let’s take a look at the most popular playoff bets that are also available for the regular season.

You have to look as the two most popular bets types overall in the spread and the total. In the spread the favorite and the underdog with the favorite giving points and the underdog getting points.

If there is a game where the Celtics -2.5 vs. the Heat the Celtics are the favorites and have to win by at least three points to win the bet. On the other side of the coin if the Heat win or lose by less than three points they win the bet.

NBA Playoffs Totals Betting

In the total, the sportsbook sets a total for a game and you just have to pick if you think the number of total points scored in the game will be over or under that posted total.

NBA Playoffs Moneyline betting

There is also the moneyline in the NBA where there is no spread, but you just pick the winner with inflated odds. However, by just picking the winner you have to bet more to win less betting on the favorite and bet less to win more on the underdog.

NBA Playoffs Parlay Betting

There are also parlays and futures for the regular season and the playoffs.

A parlay bet is simply a few bets in one where there are multiple games in one bet and all the games have to be winners for the whole bet to win. The more games in a parlay the higher the payout will be, but also tougher to win.

NBA Playoffs Futures Betting

There are futures for the regular season and the playoffs as well. You can bet before or during the season, with odds changing depending on how the team is doing, on such things as which team will win the title, which team will win the Eastern Conference, and which player will win the MVP.

However, in the playoffs there are series futures bets such as who will win the series between the Lakers and the Thunder.

NBA Playoff Prop Bets

A proposition bet is simply called a prop bet and it is one that has no outcome of the game.

There are prop bets in regular season game, but many more in the playoffs.

A few examples of a prop bet are will player A score over under 30 points, will player A score more than player B in a playoff game matchup, how many games will a series go, and will the Celtics win their series with the Heat in Boston.

There are tons of prop bets for the playoffs, in both player and team prop bets, and this is especially the case when the finals roll around.
