NBA Playoffs Wednesday – Pacers vs Celtics

Bucks vs Celtics Game 2 Tips

The Pacers vs Celtics Series stays in Boston as the Celtics look to build on their 1-0 lead over the Pacers.

So far in 2019, the NBA Playoffs have failed to let bettors down and there have been some crazy results already.

Celtics beating the Pacers in Game 1 wasn’t one of those upsets but anything can happen in Game 2 as the Celtics look to hold off their Eastern Conference counterpart.

Check out our NBA Tips for all other playoff games.

Indiana Pacers Form

The Pacers stuck around for a little but in Game 1 but they were largely blown away by the Celtics. Scoring only 74 points isn’t going to get the job done in 2019, when teams are scoring in excess of 100 points most games.

They did do well in limiting the Celtics to only 84 points but Boston had the luxury of playing soft in the last quarter, with the game largely out of reach of the Pacers.

Indiana hasn’t been a strong team on the road this season. They have won only 19 games away from Indiana and considering Boston has a terrific 28-13 home record, Pacers will need to improve significantly.

It’s tough when you’re relying on a player like Bojan Bogdanovic to do the bulk of your scoring and losing Victor Oladipo is now starting to have a major effect.

Pacers will need some big games from their supporting cast if they’re wanting to head home at 1-1 in the series.

Boston Celtics Form

Celtics have had an interesting season to date. Mid-season turmoil between Kyrie Irving and a host of other players threatened to derail their title hopes, but there’s no doubting this team come playoff time.

Boston plays tough in the playoffs, as shown in Game 1 when they scored a gritty 84-74 win. They didn’t need to score a bunch of points as they forced turnovers and limited their own mistakes.

We’re not predicting that scoring 84 points will win them many games for the rest of the playoffs, but they have the ability to score big totals.

Gordon Hayward hasn’t been the same since his injury.

The team averages 112.4 points per game this season and with the likes of Irving, Tatum and Horford in the lineup, there’s no reason why the Celtics shouldn’t get past the Pacers once again.

A possible negative for the home team is that some of their star players haven’t turned up this season – we’re looking at you Gordon Hayward – and that could come back to bite them in the playoffs.

Pacers vs Celtics Betting Trends

Pacers vs. Celtics Betting Tip

Bookmakers have set the line at 7.5 and that could play into the hands of Pacers’ bettors.

The Celtics covered the spread in Game 1, but the Pacers couldn’t have played much worse and the margin was only 10 points.

If the Pacers can shoot a little better in Game 2, they should be able to keep this game close.

We’re predicting the Boston Celtics to come away with the win but it should be a close game and the Pacers will likely stick with him throughout.

Tip: Pacers +7.5 (+101)
