NBA Predictions, Picks & Preview – Warriors vs Rockets Game 6
We have NBA Predictions for Game 6 between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets.
This series has delivering everything NBA fans hoped it would and another story line was added on Wednesday. The injury to Kevin Durant has greatly affected the betting line at BetOnline and Houston are strong favorites now.
Can the Warriors take Game 6 in Houston? Or will the Rockets a do-or-die Game 7 back in Oakland?
Our NBA Predictions look at the form and latest news from both sides.
Golden State Warriors Form & News
The Golden State Warriors might have come through Game 5 with the win, but at what cost? Losing Kevin Durant to a calf injury threatens to derail their NBA Playoffs chances.
Early news for Durant isn’t good. His orthopaedic surgeon is saying that Durant will likely be out until at least Game 4 of the Conference Finals and even that would be a risk.
“He’ll be getting daily physical therapy starting immediately, anti-inflammatories, ice, and then it’s just a matter of how it responds,” Dr. Beyer told CBS Sports. His playing status will be all about how much the swelling reduces, and how well he’s able to forcibly contract the muscle, which is necessary to jump.
“He could feasibly get back by Game 4 against Portland or Denver if he pushed it, but now you’re risking making the injury a whole lot worse.”
Therefore, the Warriors are going to need at least one of the next two games against Houston to progress. That would usually be fine, but without Durant, it adds another level of anxiety for this team.
2018/2019 hasn’t been the best of seasons for the Warriors, especially with the likes of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson struggling from the outside. Curry will need to be at his brilliant best to see the Warriors get through.
It’s not going to be easy and bookmakers now have the Warriors at +110 for the title. They were as low as –400.

Houston Rockets Form & News
Game 5 was there to be won for the Houston Rockets, but for some reason James Harden went missing in the fourth. Harden was having a terrific game but opted to let his teammates carry the load when it counted.
It was a strange tactic from the Rockets, but it could benefit them for the rest of the series. They now have to defend home court on Friday and bookmakers have them as the –7-point favorites.
That’s the biggest spread the Rockets will have to have covered against Golden State and that’s mostly because of the Durant injury. With Durant playing, the line would likely have been –2.
A healthy Rockets side was always going to push this Warriors team close. We have already seen that so far in this series and there’s only one thing stopping them from forcing Game 7 and that’s thinking about Game 7 in Oakland.
If the Rockets get ahead of themselves, the likes of Curry and Thompson could bury them. Staying focused on Friday’s game could ensure a Houston victory.
