Pacers vs Celtics Betting Record
|Indiana Pacers||Boston Celtics|
Indiana Pacers Form
The Pacers are entering this game in even worse form than the Celtics. They managed only three wins in the last ten and all of them came at home.
In fact, they have been on quite a negative stretch when it comes to road games. The last time they won a road game was on the 24th of February, so over a month ago. It’s not very surprising since they are playing without Victor Oladipo, who is by far their most important player.
Not only is he their leading scorer, but he is also their locker room and on-court leader as well their best defender. Since he went down, their play has dipped but no to the extent that many pundits expected it to. Many argued they would miss the playoffs altogether but that was hot take that had no substantial merit.
This match is of paramount importance for them because their recent struggles. If they don’t retain their position on the NBA Eastern Conference ladder, they will be a road team in the playoffs and their chances of advancing in that scenario are rather slim.
Boston Celtics Form
The Celtics enter this game after a convincing victory over the Cavs, but prior to that victory they have been on a four-game losing streak.
Their season has been defined by generally poor play and many rumours regarding their star guard Kyrie Irving. Add that to many players regressing like Hayward, Rozier and Tatum and you get a team that is miles away from being what they were portrayed to be.
They won five of the last 10 they played but the majority of those wins are over two weeks old. They are 5th in the East standings and only one game behind the Pacers, so they still have time to turn it around.
Besides Thursday night’s game, they will face them once more but that game will be played in Indiana, where the Pacers have been dominant.
Pacers vs Celtics Past Meetings
This will the third time the Pacers and Celtics play this season. The first came way back at the beginning of the season where Indiana came out on top.
The second time came about a month ago when Boston won in TD Garden easily. Both games remaining between the team are extremely important, but this could prove even more so as it has the potential to be a momentum game.
Indiana has that depressing losing streak on the road and TD Garden is not the place to stop those types of negative streaks. They will be complete but they will face a tough Boston team and a fresh Kyrie Irving.
He was rested against the Cavs in order to be fresh for this game.
Pacers vs Celtics NBA Friday Tips
Considering the recent trend and the fact that Indiana is in the middle of their worst stretch of the season, it’s hard not to pick Boston as the clear winner in this one.
Kyrie will be ready, the Boston team should be ready and the Garden will be ready. Last time they visited the Garden without Oladipo, Pacers got completely crushed 135-108.
Tip: Celtics -6.5 (-101)
