NBA Finals Predictions, Picks & Preview – Raptors vs Warriors Game 3
We have NBA Finals Predictions for Game 3 between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, June 6.
The Warriors evened the series at 1-1 after winning Game 1 in Toronto and they’re now heavy favourites to win the NBA Championship.
Can the Warriors hold home court advantage? Or will the Raptors steal Game 3 on the road?
Our NBA Finals Predictions look at the form and latest news from both the Raptors and Warriors.
Toronto Raptors Form & News
Game 2 started as if the Raptors were going to cruise their way to a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals, but they fell asleep at half time.
An 18-0 run to the Warriors was enough to blow Toronto out of the water to start the third quarter. Raptors couldn’t make a shot and they looked lost as to what to do. However, they did make a late comeback to their credit.
What was the problem for Toronto? The supporting players didn’t step up like they did in Game 1. Van Fleet was good, as he has been all series, but Pascal Siakam and Gasol were nowhere to be seen.
The onus was left on Kawhi Leonard, who is clearly tired and suffering from an injury. He has no lift whatsoever and although he’s still scoring, he’s not nearly as explosive.
In order to win Game 3 in Oakland, the Raptors will need to handle the pressure. The crowd is going to be over every mistake they make, so playing within themselves is important.
Leonard will do this thing, Van Fleet will stick to Curry like glue, but Siakam, Lowry and Gasol all need to rise to the occasion.
Winning this game is going to be tough for Toronto.
Golden State Warriors Form & News
We have to admit… our NBA Finals Predictions got Game 2 wrong. We thought the Warriors would struggle once again, and for 24 minutes we were correct.
However, the Warriors came out in the third quarter on fire and quickly put the game to bed. It was impressive to watch but the win did come at a cost.
Klay Thompson picked up an injury, Kevon Looney also picked up an injury and Steph Curry was feeling under the weather. Couple those injuries with Durant’s, who is still missing, and you have troubles.
The lack of depth for the Warriors is of big concern. Curry and Thompson can’t carry the load throughout the NBA Playoffs. Either Durant needs to come back or Demarcus Cousins needs to drop 25+ points.
Their bench is extremely thin and although they made a couple of shots in Game 2, that’s unlikely to continue in this series.
It’s not all home cooking for the Warriors. They will need to play extremely well to win Game 3 in Oakland.
