The NBA Playoffs is where the best teams come out to play and we have Spurs vs Nuggets Tips for the Western Conference showdown.
In this Western Conference playoff series, the Nuggets are the #2 seed and the Spurs are the #7 seed.
These teams split the four games facing each other this season with the home team winning every game.
The Spurs ended the season well winning their last three games, but their last loss was a bad one losing 113-85 on the road to the Nuggets. The team was balanced on the season ranking 17th in ppg and 12th in points allowed and in their last two games they only gave up 90 and 94 points respectively.
The Nuggets were a surprising team all season, as while a playoff team, for sure, not many thought they would be the 2nd seed in the loaded Western Conference.
They had lost two in a row before getting a win in their season finale and while not a high scoring team Denver is led by a defense that ranks 6th in the league in points allowed.

San Antonio Spurs Form
The Spurs have been in solid form since their bad loss to the Nuggets and they will have to win a game on the road to win this series, However, many are picking them simply because they have the playoff experience while the Nuggets do not.
This season San Antonio is 32-9 at home, but only 16-25 on the road.
The Spurs are led by DeMar Derozan (21.3 ppg) and LaMarcus Aldridge (21.2 ppg 9.1 rpg) and both of these players have a lot of playoff experience. DeRozan has only averaged 15 ppg in his last four games and only went for 11 points in the late season loss to the Nuggets.
Aldridge not only has to score in this series and hit the boards, but his defense matching up with Denver center Nikola Jokic is key.
San Antonio was not a good betting team at the end of the season failing to cover the spread in six of their last eight games.
Denver Nuggets Form
The Nuggets do not have playoff experience, but they have balance and have seven players that are averaging in double figures. Jokic should be in the MVP conversation, but is not, as this season he averaged a double-double (19.9 ppg 10.8 rpg) and also led the team averaging 7.3 assists per game.
Jamal Murray (18.2 ppg) is the 2nd leading scorer and his play will be key in this series at the PG position.
Paul Millsap is one of the few players for Denver that has playoff experience and while he averaged 12.7 ppg this season he only had 14 points in his last two games.
Only one team in the NBA had more home wins than the Spurs and it was the Nuggets. They are 34-7 at home and 20-21 on the road.
In an interesting trend Denver has failed to cover the spread in their last seven Western Conference quarterfinals games.

Spurs vs Nuggets Series Tips
Many are picking the more experienced Spurs in this series, but we are not one of them. The Nuggets are legit and while young they will come through in this series, especially at home.
We think this series will go 7 games and Denver will come out on top winning Game 7 at home.
