NBA Finals Predictions, Picks & Preview – Warriors vs Raptors Game 5

We have NBA Finals Predictions for Game 5 between the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors on Monday, June 10.

Toronto took a 3-1 series advantage when stunning the Golden State Warriors at home on Friday night. It was the Warriors third loss at ORACLE Arena in the NBA Playoffs and it could be their last game ever at the arena.

It was a game that showed just how strong the Raptors are, especially when the Warriors have their best player sitting on the sidelines.

Expect to see Kevin Durant make a desperate appearance in Game 5 as the Warriors look to stave off elimination.

Our NBA Finals Predictions look at the form and latest news from both the Warriors and Raptors.

Golden State Warriors Form & News

We have the feeling the Warriors were favorites to win this series based on previous results. They haven’t been the best NBA team this season and that’s starting to become evident in the finals.

The Warriors have been outplayed in every facet during this series. They have lost all three home games and that simply doesn’t happen to the Warriors.

With Kevin Durant on the sidelines, the Warriors are missing a rangy shooter who can also defend. The likes of Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins may as well not have played, because they’ve been that ineffective.

It’s a disappointing look for a team which has prided themselves on playing as a team. The “second unit” has provided no punch and Steph Curry has been asked to do it all by himself.

However, Kevin Durant should be playing in Game 5. If he doesn’t, that’s essentially game over for the Warriors. If Durant does play, he could provide the punch needed to take this back to Oakland.

Toronto Raptors Form & News

We firmly believe that Kawhi Leonard is now the best player in the NBA. He scored 36 points in Game 4 and didn’t break a sweat.

He’s an incredible two-way player who goes about his business with minimum fuss and there’s no questions he’s the reason why the Raptors have gone to another level.

His trade to Toronto was tough for the franchise, but it’s the best thing they’ve ever done. Much like LeBron James with the Cavaliers, he’s taking a team with moderate players and making them look like superstars.

Of course, he’s had some help along the way with Pascal Siakam scoring 19 points and Serge Ibaka scoring 20 in Game 4, but that’s all on the back of Leonard.

Travelling back to Toronto will be a great welcoming for this Raptors team and we’re expecting nothing short of a big effort.
