Golden State Warriors Form
The Golden State Warriors era of dominance seems to have come to an abrupt end since their NBA finals defeat to the Toronto Raptors.
The shift in the NBA has certainly shifted since that night. They haven’t started this campaign like a team that are going to go the whole way this season.
They have already lost three times, and sit nearer to the bottom of the standing that they are the top.
Golden State have only won on one occasion, and they will be further hindered by the loss of Steph Curry following a broken finger in their last outing.
Their only win of the season thus far came against the Pelicans, in an enthralling 134-125 victory. However, that was followed up in their most recent outing with a defeat against the Suns.
Golden State managed to score over 100 points again, but the injury to Curry certainly derailed any hopes they had.
Eric Paschall led the Warriors with 20 points, while there were also double-digit tallies for Glenn Robinson III, D’Angelo Russell and Ky Bowman. They will need to improve immeasurably, though.
San Antonio Spurs Form
The San Antonio Spurs have started the season excellently and are currently leading the Western Conference after winning all three of their fixtures so far this season.
They still have bigger challenges to come, but the groundwork thus far has been solid, and that will ensure fans that they could potentially achieve something this season.
Their three wins this season have come against the Wizards, Knicks, and most recently, the Trails Blazers.
They have scored over 100 points in all of these victories, but have also conceded at least 100 points in all of these games too.
San Antonio’s recent 113-110 victory over the Trail Blazers was a nail-biting affair, but they deserved to get the win from that game.
The Spurs were led with 27 points from DeMar DeRozan, while Derrick White and LaMarcus Aldridge also contributed 21 and 15 points respectively.
This should be a high-quality match-up between two sides that should be in the playoff mix come the end of the season.
Warriors vs Spurs Head-to-Head
The Spurs hold the overall advantage between the two sides having won on 109 occasions in the past.
Meanwhile, the Warriors have won on 61 occasions. Spurs won two of the three meetings last season, including the most recent meeting between the sides.
Golden State Warriors Team News
Steph Curry will miss the match and will join Klay Thompson on the treatment table. Kevon Looney and Jacob Evans will also be missing.
San Antonio Spurs Team News
The Spurs will have a fully fit squad to select from.
Warriors vs Spurs Predictions
This will be a tough game for the Spurs, and will undoubtedly be their trickiest assignment to date.
They will give a good account of themselves and should pick up the win.
