Arizona Cardinals Form

Arizona put up a good comeback against San Francisco last Thursday night, but could not pull off a win in a 28-25 loss as a 10-point dog.

The loss was the second-straight setback for the 3-5-1 Cards, who had won three games in a row before the current down streak.

With rookie QB Kyler Murray behind center, the Cardinals rank 19th in the NFL in scoring with 21.7 points per game and 20th in total offense with 344.4 yards per game.

In its three wins over Atlanta, NY Giants and Cincinnati, and in the season-opening tie with Detroit, Arizona has averaged 29 points per game.

But in the five losses the offense has really struggled, scoring just 16.2 points per game.

Defensively, it’s been a struggle all season for Arizona. The Cardinals are 30th out of 32 teams in the NFL in total yardage allowed (407.6 yards per game) and 28th in points allowed with 27.9 per game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Form

Arians, who holds the Cardinals’ franchise record for a coach with 50 wins, will have extra incentive this week as he takes on his former team.

Not that he and his team need any more motivation. Following last week’s overtime loss at Seattle, the Bucs fell to 2-6 overall and saw their losing streak get extended to four games.

The team has also been a money eater for its backers, going 0-4 the last four games at the betting window.

Despite some untimely turnovers from QB Jameis Winston, the Bucs offense has put up decent numbers this season.

The team ranks fourth in the league in scoring with 28.8 points per game and seventh in total offense, with 277.4 yards per game. But, as mentioned, turnovers have burned the Bucs as they have the second most giveaways in the NFL with 18.

Despite having the No. 1-ranked rushing defense in the NFL, Tampa Bay has just the 23rd best defense, allowing 371.6 yards per game.

That’s because the team has really struggled against the pass (293.9 yards per game), which has led to them giving up 31.5 points per game, second-worst in the league.

Cardinals vs Buccaneers Head-to-Head

The Cardinals have a slim advantage in the overall series between these two franchises, winning 11 of the 20 games, including the last three meetings.

The most recent match-up came in 2017 when Arizona outlasted the Bucs, 38-33, in an offensive shootout as a 3.5-point home underdog.

Cardinals vs Buccaneers NFL Week 10 Predictions

Yes, Arizona has the benefit of extra rest since it’s off the Thursday night game, but overall this is a bad scheduling spot for a young team with a rookie head coach.

They also have a rookie QB as they’ll be playing a third road game in four weeks. Making matters worse, all three of those road tilts required the Cardinals to come east and out of the Pacific time zone, so it’s been a bit of whirlwind for the team in recent weeks.

What’s more, despite the three wins, the Cardinals have been outgained in total yards in seven of their eight games this season. Compared to Tampa Bay, which has outgained four of its eight opponents this season.

Going up against a worn out defense that Arians is very familiar with, expect the Bucs offense to have too much firepower and pull out the home win and cover.
