Dallas Cowboys Form

It’s been a season of highs and lows for America’s Team.

After starting the year 3-0 and becoming a chic pick to win the NFC, Dallas promptly went into a three-game tailspin.

They lost to New Orleans and Green Bay and then getting upset by the lowly Jets on the road as a 7-point favorite.

But two weeks ago on Sunday night, the Cowboys righted the ship in a big way, routing divisional rival Philadelphia, 37-10, as a 3-point favorite. That gave them a good feeling as they headed into their bye week.

Dallas has the top-ranked total offense in the NFL this season after averaging 437.9 yards per game. Ranking sixth in the league in scoring offense, with 27.1 points per game.

On defense, Dallas is eighth in the NFL in total defense, allowing 324 yards per game and seventh in scoring defense, giving up 17.7 points per game.

The G-Men are the only team to rush for more than 120 yards against the Dallas defense this season. They are one of just two teams (the Jets being the other) to throw for more than 300 yards.

NY Giants Form

After replacing Super Bowl hero Eli Manning at QB, rookie Daniel Jones was the toast of New York after leading the team to two victories in his first two starts.

But since then, the bottom has fallen out of the G-Men as they have gone on to lose four-straight games as Jones has looked more and more like a rookie QB.

Of course, the entire blame for the losing streak can not be entirely pinned on Jones.

Injuries have played a role and this week’s game against Dallas might be the first time Jones has had all of his skill players at his disposal.

WR Sterling Shepard should return after sitting out the last two weeks with a concussion. TE Evan Engram is finally healthy and RB Saquon Barkley will be playing in his third straight after missing three games with an ankle injury.

For the season, the Giants rank 22nd in the NFL in scoring offense (19.8 points per game) and 24th in total offense (333.8 yards per game).

The defense is also very much to blame, as it has given up 30.2 points per game during the current losing streak.

Overall, New York’s “D” is ranked 27th in scoring defense (27.2 points per game) and 28th in total defense (368.8 yards per game).

Dallas Cowboys vs NY Giants Head-to-Head

The Cowboys have owned the Giants in recent seasons, winning five straight, while going 4-1 against the spread.

That includes the Week 1 meeting earlier this season when Dallas routed the Giants, 35-17, as a 7-point favorite.

Both meetings last season were decided by 7 points or less, with Dallas winning at home 20-13 as a 3-point chalk and on the road, 36-35, as a 7-point dog.

Dallas Cowboys vs NY Giants NFL Predictions

The last time we saw the Cowboys they looked like Super Bowl contenders once again and the betting public always seems to remember what they saw last.

But we can’t get the image of the team’s performance the last time they came to the Meadowlands (a horrific loss to the Jets). That makes us think this is too big a price for the Cowboys to be laying on the road.

In Week 1, the Cowboys were 7-point favorite at home. Not much has changed for the two teams since that time (if anything the Giants have upgraded at QB). Therefore, we see some definite value in taking the home dog here, especially since this is as healthy as the Giants have been on offense all season.

In a game we see being close game deep into the fourth quarter, we’ll gladly take the TD head start.
