Miami Dolphins Form

The Miami Dolphins couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start than they did on the opening weekend. The Miami fans sat in awe as Lamar Jackson put on a clinic as he passed for five touchdowns in a massive 59-10 win for the Baltimore Ravens.

There were two touchdowns apiece for Mark Ingham Jr and Marquise Brown, while Mark Andrews, Willie Snead, Miles Boykin and Patrick Ricard also contributed touchdowns.

The Dolphins were hapless in defence and never looked like getting back into the game after trailing 42-10 at the break. Any Miami fans that were hoping for a productive season may be forced to rethink their aspirations.

The sole touchdown for Miami was scored by Preston Williams, while Ryan Fitzpatrick could only complete 185 passing yards. They will need to improve when the Super Bowl champions come to town on Sunday.

New England Patriots Form

After losing just once in the pre-season, it didn’t look as though the New England Patriots had missed a step. And that momentum was to continue as they secured a dominant 33-3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on the opening weekend.

Tom Brady was in majestic form as he completed 341 passing yards and set-up three touchdowns in the win. Phillip Dorsett got a brace of touchdowns, while there were one apiece for Josh Gordon and Devin McCourty.

The Super Bowl champions look to have hit the right form from the very first weekend of the season, and they looked assured both in offence and defence.

It would be incredibly difficult to see past them making the Super Bowl again this season if they can sustain this form throughout the season.

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins head-to-head

The two sides have met on 107 occasions in the past; including three post-season encounters. Surprisingly, the Miami Dolphins hold the advantage with 55 wins, while the Patriots have won on 52 occasions.

The last meeting between the sides was a classic, which was won 34-33 by the Dolphins. Miami have won two in three against the Pats.

Miami Dolphins Team News

Condrea Tankersley and Robert Nkemdiche will be missing for the second week of the season, while Mike Hull and Rashawn Scott are doubts.

There will be late fitness tests for Trent Harris and Albert Wilson.

New England Patriots Team News

Marcus Cannon is a doubt for the Pats, while Demaryius Thomas, N’Keal Harry and Malik Gant are all on injured reserve.

David Andrew, Derek Rivers, Keionta Davis and Brandon King are also doubts.

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins NFL Week 2 Predictions

Judging by the contrasting opening day results from both sides, this shouldn’t be a particularly difficult second-weekend encounter for the Pats.

They do have a bad record against the Dolphins over the past three, but the strength they showed on the opening weekend means they will overcome that in Florida.
