NY Giants Form

The growing pains continued for the Giants and their rookie QB Daniel Jones on Monday night when the Cowboys came to town.

A close game in the second half quickly turned into a blowout as Jones (8 INTS and 10 fumbles in 9 games) continued to be plagued by turnovers. Dallas went home with a decisive 37-18 win as a 6.5-point favorite.

The loss was the fifth-straight for the G-Men, who fell to 2-7 with the loss. Jones led the team to two victories in a row after taking over for the benched Eli Manning, but things have since turned sour.

The team stats for the season are ugly for the Giants. On offense, they rank 24th overall, scoring just 19.6 points per game. They have the 17th ranked rushing attack and the 18th ranked passing game.

Defensively, the Giants are also near the very bottom of the league in total defense (28th), points allowed (29th), rushing defense (25th) and passing defense (28th).

Three of their last opponents have scored 31 points or more.

NY Jets Form

Things aren’t much better with the Jets, who limp into the battle for the Big Apple with a 1-7 record. They are losers of three in a row after upsetting Dallas on Oct. 13, 24-22, as a touchdown home dog.

In recent weeks, the boo birds and sports talk radio hosts have turned up the heat on both first-year head coach Adam Gase and second-year QB Sam Darnold.

The offense continues to sputter. The Jets are ranked dead-last in the league in total offense with just 223.5 yards per game.

They are 31st in the league in scoring and have the 30th ranked rushing offense and 32nd ranked passing attack.

The Jets defense has actually posted some decent numbers, considering the team has just one win. They are ranked 17th in total defense and have been especially good against the run, ranking 6th in league (89.2 yards per game).

The team has held five of its eight opponents to 84 rushing yards or less.

NY Giants vs NY Jets Head-to-Head

Despite sharing the same stadium and home city, the two New York franchises haven’t met since 2015 and have only squared off twice in the last 11 years.

The G-Men lead the overall series, 8-5.

That 2015 meeting went to OT as the Jets won 23-20. Previous to that the Giants had won five straight games in the series.

NY Giants vs NY Jets NFL Week 10 Predictions

Tough to back either one of these fading franchises, but with the Giants climbing all the way to a field goal favorite we can’t resist taking the points with the Jets.

We just don’t see how a team that’s 2-5 against the spread as a favorite in its last seven chances can be favored by a full FG. Especially when you consider how poorly the offense has played.

The Giants’ best offensive weapon is RB Saquon Barkley and if he is limited by the Jets’ 6th-ranked rush defense. Even more weight will be placed on the play of Jones, who simply can’t help but turn the ball over, it seems.

Hold your nose and take the Jets +3.
