Minnesota Vikings Form

At 6-3, the Vikings remained one game behind the Packers in the NFC North after dropping a 26-23 decision in Kansas City. That came to the Patrick Mahomes-less Chiefs as a 3-point road favorite.

The team had won four in a row before the loss to KC, making this week’s game against the Cowboys even more important.

Minnesota’s offense ranks eighth in yards per game (386.7), fourth in yards per play (6.23), third in rushing yards per game (153.0), 16th in passing yards per game (233.7) and 11th in points per game (26.0).

The running game has been particularly effective in recent weeks, averaging 151 yards a game the last five games.

Defensively, Minnesota has been outstanding this season, ranking fourth in the NFL in points against (17.6). They also rank seventh in yards allowed per game (320.9), ninth in rushing yards allowed per game (95.8) and eighth in passing yards allowed per game (225.1).

Just one opponent this year (Detroit) has managed to score more than 26 points in a game against the Vikings this season. And five foes have been held to 16 points or less.

Dallas Cowboys Form

It’s been a season of streaks for the Cowboys in 2019 and right now the team is back one of its hot streaks.

After opening the season with three wins, followed by three losses, the Boys have now won two in a row. That includes on Monday night when they went on the road and ran away in the fourth quarter.

The 37-18 road win came as a 6.5-point favorite.

Five times this season, the team has scored 30 points or more. Dallas remains the top offense in the NFL with 436.8 yards per game and 6.69 yards per play.

The Cowboys also rank fourth in rushing yards per game (149.3) and passing yards per game (287.5), as well as fifth in points per game (28.4).

The defense has also shown glimpses of greatness. Six of its eight opponents have been held to 21 points or less. The Cowboys rank fifth in the NFL in points against (17.8) and sixth in yards allowed per game (318.1).

They’re also 11th in rushing yards allowed per game (97.3) and seventh in passing yards allowed per game (220.9).

Vikings vs Cowboys Head-to-Head

The Cowboys have won 16 of the 30 meetings in this history of this series, including the last two.

The teams have only met twice in the last nine seasons and the last match-up came in December 2016 when Dallas (-3) won. However, they did not cover, in a 17-15 road win in Minnesota.

Vikings vs Cowboys Picks & NFL Week 10 Predictions

There’s still a huge question as to just how good the Cowboys are since their lone “quality” win came against the Eagles on Oct. 20. Other victories only came against the Giants (twice), Washington and Miami.

But we can’t look past the huge scheduling advantage the Cowboys have here in Week 10. Minnesota is playing its second-straight road game and third in the last four.

Four of those games will have been played in a 21-day span. Meanwhile, thanks to a bye in Week 8, this is just the third game for Dallas during that same time span.

The Vikings have been one of the best pointspread teams in the NFL since Mike Zimmer took over as head coach. But, they are just 9-11 ATS the last three seasons when on the road and just 3-6 ATS as a road dog.

Toss in the fact that key offensive weapon Adam Thielen will likely miss this game for Minnesota, and we’re going to lay the field goal with Dallas.
