Carolina Hurricanes vs Boston Bruins Game 4 NHL Predictions, Preview & Betting Tips
We have Hurricanes vs Bruins NHL Predictions as the Bruins look to sweep the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, May 16.
A place in the Stanley Cup final is typically earned after a hard-fought close series. However, the Boston Bruins are making a mockery of that and sweeping all before them.
The Hurricanes are going to need to produce a remarkable comeback if they have any chance of realising their Stanley Cup dreams; as the Bruins hold a comfortable 3-0 series lead, and they will travel to Carolina knowing that one more win will seal their spot.
Bruins looking to seal the series
Following two comprehensive wins in Boston, the Bruins travelled to Carolina for the first of their two away games knowing that the Hurricane’s will be a different team with home-ice advantage. They were, and this was no such walkover for the Bruins.
Carolina started quickly and peppered the Bruins goals with shot after shot, however, after standing tall in the face of the onslaught; it was the travelling team and Tuuka Rask that were standing tall, and after weathering the storm; they knew that they would get chances.
They did, but it was one short burst in which their offence did all the damage, as Chris Wagner and Brad Marchand scored just over five minutes apart in the second period to put the dominant Bruins in complete control of not only this game but the whole series.
Can Bruins get back to the Stanley Cup Finals?
It was Rask who was the star for the Bruins, as he saved 35 shots. It was the first time since 1978 that Boston has won six straight post-season games; on that occasion, they went onto lose to the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup final.
Bruins fans will be dreaming of their third appearance in the showpiece event in nine years; however, they will be hoping that their luck in the finals also changes.
No team has lost more Stanley Cup series’ than the Bruins; with the 13 defeats that they have tasted far outweighing the six wins that they have. Their last win came in 2011 when they beat the Vancouver Canucks. They will have a chance to complete the sweep in game four.
Hamilton the pig that sits behind the corner boards could sit on in disbelief in game three, as the perfect home-ice record for Carolina quickly disappeared at the hands of the Bruins. Curtin McElhinney replaced Petr Mrazek in the Hurricanes goal after the first choice keeper had previously conceded ten goals in the opening games of the series.
McElhinney couldn’t have the finger pointed at him as he performed admirably by making 29 stops. Meanwhile, the goals for the Hurricanes was scored by Calvin de Haan; the 28-year-old’s first goal in the post-season. It was a closer game than the previous two in the series, but in truth, the result never seemed in doubt.
Hurricanes vs Bruins Game 4 – NHL Predictions
Our NHL Predictions have the Carolina Hurricanes salvaging at least one game against Boston.
The team that will be progressing out of this series seems to be destined to be the Boston Bruins, and that is only highlighted by the fact that only four teams in NHL history have been able to rally from three games behind to win a series.
However, the last of which was the Los Angeles Kings in 2014, who featured the Hurricanes skipper Justin Williams. It remains unlikely, but the Hurricanes may escape a sweep.
