Manchester United Form

The Red Devils would have come away from the Black Country bitterly disappointed that they didn’t win the three points. Wolves have been United’s bogey side ever since they returned to the top-flight, and once again they proved to be just that.

United dominated the proceedings and took a deserved lead through Anthony Martial in the first half. Wolves started the second half much better and got the equaliser after a wonderful finish from Ruben Neves, who managed to pick to top corner of David De Gea’s goal.

United came back and should have taken all three points when Paul Pogba was brought down by Conor Coady, and a penalty was awarded. However, Pogba stepped up himself and saw his spot-kick saved by Rui Patricio.

The Red Devils continued to push for the winner as Wolves sat back, but they couldn’t break their resistance for a second time.

Crystal Palace Form

Crystal Palace have endured a difficult start to the new season and will be looking to score their first goal of this new campaign. They drew their opening game at home 0-0 against Everton, before losing away at newly-promoted Sheffield United.

The Eagles were dominated throughout the game and never looked like scoring against a Blades team that worked in unity to defend their clean sheet. The game showcased why Palace are many people’s picks to struggle against relegation this season.

Wilfried Zaha remains their main goalscoring threat, and if opposing sides are able to nullify his threat, then nine times out of ten, they will win the match.

Eagles fans should be worried for the season ahead; it could be a long campaign.

Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace head-to-head

United hold a clear advantage in the overall record between the sides having won on 37 occasions compared to Palace’s seven wins. There have also been eleven draws between the sides.

The Eagles haven’t beaten United in the league since 1991, and haven’t won at Old Trafford in the top-flight since 1989.

The last fixture between the sides was won 3-1 by United at Selhurst Park. The Eagles did hold on for a 0-0 draw in the fixture at Old Trafford last season.

Manchester United Team News

Eric Bailly remains on the treatment table for United, while Alexis Sanchez is unlikely to feature as he edges closer to a move to Inter Milan.

Crystal Palace Team News

Pape Souare remains on the sidelines for the Eagles. But, James Tomkins could return to the starting line-up after recovering from a groin injury.

EPL Week 3 Predictions: Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

It is difficult to see anything other than a Manchester United win here. The pace that the Red Devils have on the counter will cause even the very best teams in the division problems, and the Eagles have big problems defensively.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial will continue their strong start to the season with goals.
