It hasn’t been the best of starts to the new season for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United, and they will host top-six contenders Leicester City on Saturday.

Manchester United Form

Manchester United have only won once this season and haven’t won since the opening day of the season.

However, it could be argued that their performances have been better than their results have shown, and if they had a more clinical edge in the forward positions, then they could have easily won all four games.

United’s most recent fixture against Southampton once again saw them in the lead at the break after Daniel James’ wonderful curling effort.

However, much like against Wolverhampton Wanderers, they allowed the Saints back in the game, and a defensive mistake from Victor Lindelof allowed Jannik Vestergaard to get a run at the ball, and the Dane powered his header past a helpless David De Gea.

Marcus Rashford led the line for United at St Mary’s but failed the take his chance and the Englishman lacks the attacking intelligence that is needed to get the tap ins that United need.

Anthony Martial should be back for United when the Foxes come to town, and that will certainly increase their attacking threat.

Leicester City Form

The Foxes are in excellent form at present and are unbeaten this season. They have won their last two league games against Sheffield United and Bournemouth, while a draw at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea already highlights that United should be aware of the threat posed by Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Jamie Vardy was back to his best in the game against Bournemouth last time out as he scored a brace and set-up Youri Tielemans for the Foxes second goal of the game.

Vardy is thriving under Rodgers and has now scored three goals this season. His pace will be a crucial element in their game against United and match-up against former Leicester defender Harry Maguire could be an exciting proposition.

Manchester United vs. Leicester City head-to-head

United holds the clear advantage in this fixture having won on 66 occasions compared to Leicester’s 33 wins. There have also been 29 draws between United and Leicester.

The Red Devils haven’t been beaten by Leicester since their capitulation at the King Power Stadium in 2014.

United won this fixture 2-1 last season, with Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw the goalscorers.

Manchester United Team News

Anthony Martial could return for United, while Paul Pogba should be fit. However, Luke Shaw, Eric Bailly and Diogo Dalot will be missing.

Leicester City Team News

Brendan Rodgers should have a fully fit squad to choose from barring any injuries during the international break.

Manchester United vs. Leicester City EPL Predictions

This should be an interesting fixture between two sides that both thrive playing counter-attacking football.

The pace of Jamie Vardy and how United’s defence will deal with the vibrant forward will be crucial in deciding the winner.

The Foxes will be hoping to maintain their excellent start to the season, and it’s hard to see United scoring more than they will concede in this game.
