DC United Form & Team News
It has been a strange few weeks in the MLS with every side seemingly having a weak spot. However, one of the undoubted stars of the season so far is Wayne Rooney.
The Englishman seems to have found a new lease of life since moving Stateside, and he is looking like the man that could deliver a record-breaking fifth MLS Cup to Washington. However, with that said they seem to have hit a bit of a snag in the road as of late and have only one twice in eleven MLS fixtures.

This record is even worse when you consider that they have only won once in their last five. They draw far too many games to rightfully claim that they can challenge for a place at the top of the league and they have lost twice in their past four league games.
This most recent defeat came at the hands of Atlanta United. After surviving a frankly awful penalty attempt from Josef Martinez, they looked to have held on for a draw. However, two late goals condemned them and proved the difference between the reigning champions and the pretenders to the throne.
Luckily enough for the Capital club, they still have more than enough time until the playoffs, and they should get back on track in Chicago.
Chicago United Form & Team News
Meanwhile, Chicago have only won once in their last eight outings in the MLS; with that win coming over Atlanta United. It was a memorable occasion for the team on their own turf as they ran out convincing 5-1 winners against the reigning champions.
However, that has been a small moment of joy in an otherwise miserable season for the Fire. They have lost two in their last three league games, with the most recent of those coming against the Philadelphia Union.
Despite the 2-0 scoreline they played decent throughout the game, and the narrative of the game was simply that the Fire didn’t take their chances and the Union did.
Philadelphia struck at pivotal moments of the game; in the 11th and 65th minute, just as Chicago looked to be giving themselves a chance.
Should they have any hopes of mounting a late charge for the playoffs then, this home game against DC is simply must win.
MLS Predictions – Chicago Fire vs DC United
Our MLS Predictions sees a Chicago Fire win at home.
The form book will show you that either side could win this game. Despite starting strongly, United have petered out and look suspect any time that the opposing team comes forward.
Fire need to become more clinical in front of goal, and if they do, then there is no reason why they can’t get the three points against DC.
