Norwich City Form

Norwich City will be nervously looking over their shoulders as they have already lost three of their four Premier League fixtures this season, but despite that, they have probably played better in these fixtures than the scorelines may suggest.

Last time out against West Ham was possibly their worst performance of the season so far, and they failed to create any clear cut chances for Teemu Pukki.

The Hammers dominated throughout and deservedly took the three points. How they approach this fixture against the champions will be crucial. They have already come up against two of last season’s top-six, and on both occasions, they have attempted to attack.

There’s nothing wrong with this, and it will certainly make for a lively fixture, but it is also naïve to think that they can genuinely get anything from the best sides in the Premier League by playing like this.

Manchester City Form

Manchester City have been near perfect in their opening four games of the season and put for a contentious VAR decision they would be sitting at the top of the Premier League going into the fifth round of fixtures.

However, since that setback which made sure they settled for a point against Tottenham Hotspur, they have been professional against Bournemouth and most recently Brighton & Hove Albion.

In their last fixture, Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for the Citizens after less than two minutes before a brace for Sergio Aguero, and a quick fire goal from Bernardo Silva ensured a comfortable 4-0 success.

City haven’t needed to get out of second gear so far this season, but they will be aware of the attacking threat that the Canaries have. However, City have far too much in the forward positions for them to be worried about a defeat against Norwich.

Norwich City vs. Manchester City head-to-head

Manchester City holds a dominant record against Norwich having won 36 of the previous meetings between the sides. The Canaries have only won nine times against City, and there have been 23 draws.

The last meeting between the sides came in 2016 and ended in a goalless draw. The Canaries will be hoping for a first win over City since 2013.

Norwich City Team News

Norwich will likely be without three first-team central defenders in Christoph Zimmermann, Timm Klose and Grant Hanley, while Onel Hernandez remains out.

Manchester City Team News

Pep Guardiola will once again be without Leroy Sane and John Stones, while Aymeric Laporte picked up an injury last time out, which means Fernandinho could be asked to play in the defence.

Norwich City vs. Manchester City EPL Predictions

This shouldn’t be a hard assignment for Manchester City. Daniel Farke has remained adamant that he wouldn’t change the way that his team plays, and while Norwich may get their chances, they are undoubtedly going to also give a lot away to City’s ruthless front line.

It could be entertaining, but there isn’t much doubt about who will win.
