CFL Predictions, Picks & Preview – Montreal Alouettes vs Hamilton Tiger Cats
We have CFL Predictions & Picks for the Montreal Alouettes vs Hamilton Tiger Cats game this Thursday.
It couldn’t have been a more contrasting start to the new season for both of these sides, as the unbeaten Tiger-Cats take on the winless Alouettes.
The first fixture between these two sides on Friday in the opener of a back-to-back series and many people’s CFL Predictions at the beginning of the season seem to be coming to fruition.
Experts had predicted that the Tiger Cats look like the best team in the East, while the Alouettes look like the worst, and that is exactly how it has panned out thus far.

Montreal Alouettes Form
The Alouettes will be coming into the match after a week two bye. This followed an opening day defeat against the Edmonton Eskimos.
It was so nearly a different story, however. With his team trailing 25-8, Vernon Adams Jr pulled his team level at 25-25, only for a late touchdown to suck all the momentum out of the resurgent Alouettes.
However, that little fight back remains the only piece of hope that has hung over a very dark opening few weeks of the campaign for Montreal.
Their misery has been compounded with an injury to star quarterback Antonio Pipkin; who picked up a knee injury and will be on the sidelines for the next four to six weeks. The injury has forced Montreal to bring back former draft pick Brandon Bridge to provide the depth in the position. However, that move isn’t likely to be getting Alouettes fans on the edge of their seats.
This wasn’t the only injury concern for Montreal as both Taylor Loffler, and Boseko Lokombo are also sidelined for at least the Tiger-Cats matchup.
It promises to be a testing fixture for Montreal as they watched the Tiger Cats romp home against the Argos last time out.
Hamilton Tiger Cats Form
It has been a perfect start to the campaign for the Tiger Cats with two wins out of two. This includes their history-making 64-10 win against the Argos last time out.
The win tied a franchise record for the biggest winning margin, which was set in September 1999. Furthermore, the Tiger Cats had 604 total yards and recorded eight touchdowns against the helpless Argos.
The whole team was brilliant in the win, but there must be a special mention for Sean Thomas-Erlington and Bralon Addison. The latter recorded six catches and made 107 yards.
Meanwhile, Thomas-Erlington recorded 109 yards on 12 carries. The whole team work in unison, and it was a brilliant performance. The quarterback Jeremiah Masoli has recorded 507 passing yards and assisting four touchdowns in the opening two games of the 2019 campaign.
It’s hard to see past him improving on that against the Alouettes.
CFL Predictions – Montreal Alouettes vs Hamilton Tiger Cats
The demolition over the Argos last time out just highlighted how good this Tiger Cats side are, and that record which they matched last time out could be in danger of being broken for good against the Alouettes.
However, the Alouettes despite their loss will be coming into the match having beaten the Tiger-Cats in their last meeting in November last year. While this will give them hope, it’s increasingly unlikely that they will match their exploits on that day.
