PBA Commissioner’s Cup Predictions, Picks & Preview – North Port vs Phoenix

We have PBA Commissioner’s Cup Predictions, Picks & Preview for the Philippines Basketball Association game between North Port Batang Pier vs Phoenix Fuel Masters on Wednesday, July 26.

North Port are currently leading the premiership after eight games and they’re looking to establish some space between the rest of the teams. However, the Phoenix Fuel Masters are desperate for a win and that should make for an intriguing game.

Bettors can find the best PBA Commissioner’s Cup odds at Pinnacle, which is accepting players from Philippines and around the world.

With no NBA action on until October, the PBA League is well worth watching as there’s plenty of NBA-level talent on the court.

North Port Batang Pier Form

Confidence is high with North Port after recording a 127-99 win over the Blackwater Elite – one of the better teams in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The Batang Pier are getting solid numbers from numerous players in the squad. Robert Bolick is averaging 17.3 points per game and he has been playing big minutes this season.

Along with Bolick, the likes of Sean Anthony, Moala Tuatuaa, Stanley Pringle and Prince Ibeh are all averaging more than 10 points per game. Whenever a team has five players averaging in double-figures, it’s very tough to get past them.

The North Port bench is also doing their part. Several players are shooting at a high clip, especially Paolo Taha who is 49% from the field and also grabs in four rebounds per game.

However, the rebounding king for the North Port Batang Pier is Prince Ibeh and it’s not even close. Ibeh is averaging 6.8 offensive rebounds per game and an amazing 10.4 defensive rebounds per game. That’s over 17 boards per game.

Ibeh is a defensive machine and he’s one reason why North Port are currently sitting at 7-1 on the season.

Phoenix Fuel Masters Form

Consistency has been hard for Phoenix, but they have looked much better in recent weeks. Phoenix scored a win over Alaska on June 15 when winning 78-76 in a close battle.

They didn’t back that win up with another against Magnolia Hotshots last week, but that loss came by only three points.

Despite losing and falling to 2-4 on the season, the Fuel Masters still have plenty to play for and they have played two less games than North Port.

Leading the way for Phoenix is the three-headed combination of Matthew Wright, Robert Dozier and Calvin Abueva. All three are averaging double-figure points and Dozier is pulling in a massive 14 rebounds per game.

They play a similar style of basketball to North Port, which could make for an interesting game this week. They like to get the ball into the paint and let their scorers go to work.

Phoenix also has deadly three-point shooters with seven rostered players shooting better than 30% from behind the arc.

We wouldn’t be writing off Phoenix against the PBA Commissioners Cup league leaders.
